Mastery and mystery
the eternal human theme.
Torn by what is possible
and what remains a dream.
Each new day that passes
the same question repeats;
will this problem kneel to me
or will I surrender defeat?
For in seeking control
we would ourselves divine become.
Lord of all we survey
and answerable to none.
Yet in letting go, our own
individual deity we might undo;
and return to something far
greater, than I, me or you.
For in truth,
both have their place.
As long as we remember
our humble limits,
in this very human search
for the divine, unknowable face.
