Scampering

It’s only hard
this moment,
when no longer
do I want to be
any part of it.

Mind and heart
unshackled,
seductive thoughts
that elsewhere
is where I belong.

Scampering away
as they do,
across imagination’s
ever shifting landscape.

Wild, breathless
and full
of empty promise.

(Poem taken from Go Gently into the Day)
